The BAUER Nitrox systems enable breathing air to be enhanced with an increased oxygen content of up to 40%. The systems assist diving instructors working in professional scuba diving, ambitious amateur scuba divers as well as scuba divers who make their living from diving, and the military.

The legislator has issued clear regulations, as the compression of gases requires a specific degree of tested safety.

Certification from the TÜV Süd (German Technical Inspection Authority) testifies that BAUER Nitrox compressors are equal to the BAUER principle of “safety not being negotiable”.

This is an important consideration with regard to product liability in the event of accidents (in particular for tour operators and hotels who run diving centres on their sites).

The choice is up to you: depending on the amount of nitrox required, local infrastructure and geographical conditions, with our B-NITROX series, two different systems for generating nitrox are available to you. If you initially opt for the B-BLENDING Nitrox mixing system, but later find that you need more nitrox, all units in BAUER’s Nitrox series can be expanded at a later date to include the corresponding components from BAUER’s B-NITROX range to form a complete membrane system.

Whether open or sound-insulated, mobile or stationary – the BAUER Nitrox series of units contains the right model for almost every application. For your safety, all BAUER Nitrox compressors are fitted with temperature sensors after every compressor stage as well as in the final separator to monitor that the specified operating temperature is observed. All components and oils used are also designed for use with an increased oxygen content.

Extensive tests are required due to the high safety standards governing the compression of gases enriched with oxygen. All materials used in the unit that come into direct contact with the gas must demonstrate that they are harmless under the strictest TÜV criteria and defined test procedures. These tests ensure that the nitrox mixture generated by the oxygen membrane with a maximum oxygen content of 40% can be compressed safely in the downstream high-pressure compressor.

BAUER KOMPRESSOREN only uses 4-stage compressor blocks for the compression of nitrox. This ensures that the heat produced during the process of compression is distributed across all four stages, promoting effective cooling.

The star-shaped arrangement of the compressor stages optimises smooth running and increases efficiency. The free-standing cylinders are easy to access and maintain. Furthermore, they are ideally positioned in the cooling air flow.

For increased safety, the temperature is monitored by temperature sensors at each compressor stage and in the final separator. If the maximum permissible temperature specified by the TÜV is exceeded, the unit shuts down automatically and the system is ventilated.

A combination of mechanical and electronic safety mechanisms ensures that the oxygen content of the gas mixture achieves the precise value you have set, irrespective of external factors.

To provide excellent flexibility, B-BLENDING is offered as a unit integrated into the compressor or for external wall mounting. To prevent operating errors, the focus was also placed on ensuring that the user interface is clear and simple to use.

The B-BLENDING system is particularly suitable for diving centres with low or average nitrox requirements that are looking for a simple yet safe solution for generating nitrox.
